AVA ABA Student Trainee- Autism Program
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Two years of completed coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or related fields is preferred.
Must obtain within three months of hire and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Must complete IBCCES Autism Certification, CPR, First Aid and any additional emergency medical training as required by AVA Center Director.
Reports to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the Director of the Appalachian Valley Autism (AVA) Center.
The ABA Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides ABA services to AVA Center’s learners (pediatric clients).
This includes the implementation of a treatment plan developed by a BCBA addressing communication, behavior, feeding, activities of daily living (ADL) and social skills.
The RBT will also monitor the progress of a treatment plan and work closely with the BCBA to update the treatment plan, as necessary.
Provides direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings.
Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
