SCOPE OF POSITION
The cook shall prepare well-balanced, healthy, approved meals for childcare including breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
The cook will prepare menu items using a variety of specific production techniques and standardized recipes.
The cook will evaluate product for flavor, appearance, consistency, texture, and temperature according to Childcare Rules regulated by the Department of Human Services.
This individual will operate a variety of equipment including ovens, crockpots, warmers, commercial dishwashers, and other items.
The cook will clean and sanitize all equipment used in preparation of menu items.
The cook will follow local, state, and federal safety and sanitation regulations.
The cook will determine production needs, and maintain clean, orderly work ad storage areas.
Additionally, the cook will distribute all meals to classrooms prior to each mealtime, and will clean up and wash all dishes when mealtime is complete.
The cook will work with the center director to meet the needs of all children including those with known allergies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years experience in food production, with experience in feeding children preferred.
Training will be provided on site.
