CHILD CARE ATTENDANT
GRADE: 5 REPORT TO: Director of Day Care Services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Shall be at least 18 years of age and shall meet the general qualifications, health, orientation training, and staff development requirements for applicable position.

or verification of completion of a home school program approved by the state, and it is preferred that the candidate have six months of supervised programmatic experience in the group care of children.
SUMMARY: Child day care is responsible for the care and well-being of pre-school age children and school age children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for helping the child care leader in supervising children and in implementing the activities and services for children.
Encourage, supervise and help organize recreational and learning activities for the benefit of each child.
Assist with set-up and clean up of each activity.
Encourage and assist children with participation in-group and individual activities and field trips.
Show sensitivity to the children’s needs, being aware of individual abilities.
Assist with ensuring that the activities, services, and facilities of the Center are conducive to the well-being of the children.
Monitor individual and/or group activities to prevent activities and promote social skills.
Monitor children for safety and wellness.
Demonstrate concern for all the children’s welfare by rendering immediate assistance to any child in need.
Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Confidentiality will be observed at all times.
Keep supervisor advised of any changes in child’s condition.
Will report any suspicion of abuse to the supervisor in charge immediately.
Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness and neatness in the Center environment.
Demonstrate infection control techniques.
Adhere to applicable agency policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in all required training.
Will demonstrate and maintain good work ethics.
Will perform other agency tasks as requested.
