Child Watch Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, clean, caring, fun and enriching environment for our member's children to enjoy while they parents use our Fitness Center facility.
All Child Watch staff will be responsible for the overall successful day-to-day running of the Child Watch program, as well as be responsible for high-quality childcare.
Provides a quality experience to children and parents.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for the safety of the children, classroom, and all activities at all times
Assures parents are signing in children properly and presenting identification
Develops and implements activities for the children and attentively watches and attends to the children
Supervises and interacts with children at play
Encourage sportsmanship and positive peer interactions
Completes required cleaning and organizing of the Child Watch room to maintain program site and equipment, maintains clean environment, performs custodial duties as required or assigned to include body fluid cleanup, sanitizing area, and light housekeeping
Maintains required program records
Ensures safe play conditions and follows established security procedures
Treats children if injured and completes an accident report; reports to parents and supervisor
Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed
Responds to questions and concerns from parents and refers them to the Director as needed
Must be able to establish and maintain relationships with other staff members, leaders, volunteers, members, participants, parents, and the general public
Know, educate and enforce Child Watch rules and policies to members and parents
May be responsible for communicating facility needs and concerns to the Director immediately
Know the work schedule and reports to work on time or finds an approved substitute
Complete timesheet on a daily basis
Builds positive relationships with members and children in program
Assume all other duties and assignments deemed appropriate by the Director
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum one-year previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background
Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 60 days of hire date
Child Abuse Prevention training preferred
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
Previous experience with diverse populations.
Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
Must be willing and available to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts
Must be 18 years of age
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
May be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses
Work Schedule
Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm Hours could vary or be extended.
