Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Controller, manages the day-to-day activities regarding accounts payable.
Responsible for receiving, posting, paying, and managing all vendor invoices.
Processes expense reimbursement accounts.
Maintains vendor records.
Carries out accounting activities as needed.
Specific Job Functions:
Receive, post, and document all vendor invoices.
Pay all vendor invoices in a timely manner.
Generate payables reports for Senior Management.
Manage all vendor invoice documentation per retention policies.
Reconcile accounts at month-end for auditing purposes.
Process wire-transfer requests.
Support month-end accounting activities.
Support special projects as requested by the Controller.
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Familiarity with accounts payable concepts and processes.
Willingness to take on new responsibilities and roles as needed.
Knowledgeable of the local real estate agencies and appraisal vendors.
Ability to understand, implement and maintain Bank policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Ability to work with limited or no direct supervision.
Ability to think and act independently within guidelines and limitations of Bank policy and assigned personal authority.
Present a professional, business-like manner and appearance.
Focus/desire to provide excellent internal customer service.
Additional Requirements (Education, Experience)
High School Diploma/Equivalent.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business administration, accounting, or other related field preferred.
1-3 years experience with accounts payable or basic accounting functions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively across a broad base of internal/external customers.
Capable user level knowledge of First Sentinel Bank computer systems and technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet and internal software.
Willingness to occasionally travel for training or other business-related matters
